Systems Engineering & Model-Based Engineering and Product Lifecycle

Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
is an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of
successful systems. In recent years it has gained more and more high level management
attention, as the development of increasingly complex Systems (e.g. Aircrafts) or
Systems-of-Systems (e.g. National Border Control System) requires new methods and technologies
ensuring highest quality while keeping the integrity of the product and
bringing most value to the customers.
One
of the major fields of actual research is the need to bring MBSE & Product
Lifecycle Management (PLM) closer together. Thereby,
the following topics are investigated
with regard to their potential to support the overall engineering
methodology:
